Certification OHSAS 18001:2007 wind farms
As a result of the work we have done in France this year, we have been able to certify the first six wind farms in accordance with OHSAS 18001:2007, with a total of 67 MW, which accounts for 23.5% of the existing MW in that country. In Spain, 2011 saw the second follow-up audit of the OHSAS 18001:2007 certification of the occupational risk prevention management system obtained in 2009; the audit was successfully completed and the certificate renewed.
In addition to the 67 wind farms certified in 2010 and whose certificates were renewed in 2011, accounting for a total power of 1,596 MW, the rest of the wind farms in Spain in which EDP Renewables Europe is a majority shareholder were also certified. The company thereby boasts a total of 83 certified parks in 2011 and 2,126 MW EBITDA.
We are looking ahead to the coming years and working to extend certification to the rest of the wind farms in France, as well as implementing the Occupational Risk Prevention Management System in Poland and Romania, so that in 2012 and 2013 they can also be certified in accordance with OHSAS 18001:2007.
