EDPR certified in all its European wind farms*
EDPR has been recognized for its Environmental Management System (EMS) and granted the ISO14001 certification. EDPR has now implemented and certified EMS in all its European wind farms that have been in service before June 2012 and operated by EDPR. More specifically, the company has 3,663 MW of its operations covered by ISO14001-certified EMS in Spain, Portugal, Romania, Poland, France and Belgium.
This achievement depended on the completion of a certification audit conducted by Lloyd´s Register LRQA. Lloyds stated that EDPR´s EMS is “in accordance with applicable requirements” as well as “more engaged to the business.”
EDPR´s primary objective in implementing EMS is to improve its overall business. Under this system, it ensures compliance with legal requirements, voluntary commitments, and relevant environmental aspects while setting environmental objectives and targets at country and platform levels. The efforts to implement EMS require the direct or indirect involvement of many employees across departments and locations of EDPR. Each country has shown its strengths throughout the entire process, helping the company reach this goal and improve its business.
The improvements and hard work of EDPR throughout this process is reflected with this year´s certification renewal. EDPR will strive to continue its positive efforts each year while always seeking improvement.
