Madrid, 07 March 2019: EDP Renewables (EDPR), a global leader in the renewable energy sector and one of the world's largest wind energy producers, through its fully owned subsidiary EDP Renewables North America LLC (EDPR NA), and Microsoft Corp. have executed two 15-year power purchase agreements (PPA) totaling 125 megawatts (MW) that will bring the Timber Road IV Wind Farm to Ohio’s Paulding County. These PPAs form part of the announcement made by EDPR on 24 July 2018.

The 125 MW Timber Road IV Wind Farm is expected to be operational in 2019 and will produce enough clean electricity to annually power more than 36,000 average Ohio homes. The wind farm will generate employment opportunities, property tax revenue for the local government and land lease payments to area farmers and landowners.

Agreements like these are a clear example of EDP Renewables’ ability to work with corporate customers, helping them to achieve their renewable energy and carbon emissions reduction targets.

The Timber Road IV Wind Farm will be EDPR’s fourth operational wind farm in Ohio and its third operational wind farm in Paulding County. The four wind farms total 392 MW, contributing to more than 40 percent of the state’s installed wind capacity. EDPR’s three operational wind farms in Ohio supply energy to 76,000 average homes.
