The EDP Group recognises the profound impact of climate change on the future of Humanity.
We endorse the conclusions of the scientific panels that point to anthropogenic global warming and support the recommendations of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), established by the United Nations to limit global warming to 2°C and achieve zero net CO2 emissions and other greenhouse gases by the end of the century.
We want to provide competitive energy based on the implementation of low-carbon solutions that are capable of sustainable economic growth.
We are on our way to COP21. Watch the videos on our commitments:

EDPR is a leading company in renewable energy, producing clean and green energy and committed with defined targets contributing to the climate change. Our core business activity inherently implies the reduction GHG emissions. Wind and solar energy has zero carbon emissions, contributing to the world’s fight against climate change and does not produce harmful SOx, NOx, or mercury emissions, protecting valuable air and water resources.
EDPR has set for 2016-20 a growth target of +3.5 GW (>700 MW/year) in clean projects, where US represents 65% of EDPR growth, estimating an increase in CO2 avoided of +10%. Even though our activity is based on the clean energy generation, we are conscious about promoting a culture of rational use of resources. We are committed to maintain our indirect emissions representing less than 1% of the total amount of emissions avoided.
