EDPR Poland: engaging our communities

Your Energy

Lolek Wiatrolek and his friends: Jagoda Woda, Patryczek Promyczek, Janek Wulkanek, Basia Biomasa and Witek Pożytek led on another remarkable trip around the world of renewable energy sources in primary schools in Gołańcz, Budzyń, Tomaszów, Jarczów and Korsze. The youngest students were visited by experts from the "Your Energy" program as part of the fourth edition of EDP Renewables' educational project. This year's program included nearly 900 pupils from primary schools.

During the classes, pupils embarked on a trip around the world of renewable sources of energy, accompanied by characters representing each type of energy: solar, water, wind, geothermal and biomass. Through experiments, animations and stories, children gained knowledge about the sources of green energy and learned how to take care of the environment through everyday activities. Tutors also presented the methods for ecological and economical use of electricity. At the end, students received a coloring with newly recognized characters and a student's notebook in order to solve new ecological riddles at home, under parents' charge.

The fourth edition of the Program was accompanied by the launch of its Polish website, available at: http://generationedpr.edpr.com/yourenergy. On the new website, the protagonists show children around the world of renewably sources of energy, while playing and teaching them how to safely use electricity. It is an excellent source of knowledge for the youngest energy users and their parents.
