Environmental volunteering initiatives organized by EDPR through the EDP Foundation focus on the Hoces del Duratón natural site in Segovia

The installation of new beacons along the Duratón River's margin, destroyed by floods 2 years ago, was among the activities conducted by 35 volunteers from EDPR during the Environmental Volunteering Days, which this year took place at this natural site in the province of Segovia this past September.

The morning activities began at the Natural Site's Classroom, a dedicated venue that hosts activities related to nature and where volunteers attended an educational talk on the biodiversity that exists in the natural park. Next, participants trekked across the 4.5 km stretch that runs parallel to the Senda de la Vega river margin, giving both adults and young ones taking part in the activity the opportunity to enjoy a day outdoors in a natural setting.

In the afternoon, the group participated in a joyful activity that consisted in kayaking along a 7 km stretch on the Duratón River. A fun experience for the youngest ones whom, accompanied by adults, wrapped up a great day whose purpose was to put EDPR employees' altruistic and voluntary collaborative efforts to practice to protect the environment.

On this occasion, EDP Renováveis collaborated with the Natural Heritage Foundation of Castilla y León in this activity, which allowed strengthening the company's relations with non-profit organizations who look after the general interests at those locations where the company conducts its business.
