Maria Manuela Casimiro da Silva Conceição Pereira was born in 1955, in Lisbon. She holds a degree in Economics from the Instituto Superior de Economia of the Technical University of Lisbon and has enriched her academic training over the years in Management Schools such as AESE Business School and INSEAD.

By appointment of the General and Supervisory Board is, since January 2019, EDP Group Ethics Ombudsperson.

Has an extensive experience in management of companies in areas of the economy as diverse as hotel and Tourism, the cork industry and the energy sector, where actively participated in the development of the use of natural gas in Portugal. Since 2001, in the EDP Group, has led teams in the areas of information technology, consolidation of the logic of "shared services" and liberalization of the energy sector, having integrated the management bodies of Edinfor, EDP Valor and EDP Soluções Comerciais. Also held positions of director of the Commercial School of EDP University and administrator of EDP Soluções Comerciais.

The interest and concern for the humanist dimension led to an early involvement in volunteer projects, skills development, and mentoring for various population groups.

During the last decade, it has been part of the Ethics Committee of the EDP Group. She is also a member of the advisory board of the Professional Women Network (PWN) Mentoring Program and of the AESE Business School General Board.
