EDPR wins Cegos HR Best Practice Awards for its MLE Program, focused on management and leadership

Wednesday 19, May 2021

MLE Program (Management and Leadership Essentials), recognised in the development and learning category, aims to improve the leadership and management skills of EDPR’s employees.

The award reflects EDPR's commitment to providing the skills and knowledge necessary for the business, together with the most innovative training methodologies to its employees.

EDP Renewables (Euronext: EDPR), a world leader in the renewable energy sector, has been awarded the Cegos Prize conferred by the Cegos group and Equipos & Talento, in the category of development and learning, in recognition of the MLE Program (Management and Leadership Essentials). This project aims to improve the leadership and management skills of EDPR employees. MLE Program involved 107 participants from 7 countries with 7 local consultants who conducted the programme in local languages. The programme was divided into two intensive levels of 25 hours each (Management and Leadership) with three content modules in each level entirely online. In addition, virtual Webinar Live classes were added after each module and individual eCoaching sessions after each module.

This programme is in line with the importance that the company gives to the search for innovative training solutions for its professionals. In fact, EDPR employees have a catalogue of on-site and online training divided into technical, management and behavioural courses that they are free to choose from. The company's objective is to contribute to the acquisition and improvement of the skills and knowledge necessary for its employees to perform their tasks, their role in the team (as managers and leaders, in the case of the MLE programme) and their skills for working across departments and with other stakeholders.

"EDPR is very pleased to receive this award at the 13th edition of the Cegos Awards with E&T. We believe that engagement boosts employee performance and, in turn, performance feeds engagement. These are two dimensions common to EDPR talents that are put into practice through the creation of growth opportunities such as the MLE Program. Employee loyalty is a priority for us," highlights Cristina Cano, HR Director at EDPR. Once again, the company's investment in its employees, and its understanding that investing in their talent benefits everyone, has been confirmed and recognised.

The winners were announced yesterday, during the closing ceremony of Talent Day, a day that debates the latest trends in human resources. Following the announcement of the winners, the voting process for the best award-winning project has been opened, which can be found on the websites of both Equipos & Talento and Cegos. The project with the most votes will also receive the distinction of professional recognition.

The awards ceremony will be held in October, with the prizewinners, participants and industry professionals in attendance to see the award-winning best practices.
