The #yestowindpower campaign returns with a more international scope

Tuesday 03, April 2018

EDPR is supporting the Yes to Wind Power campaign in its third year as it increases its international reach and social media presence.

The initiative, first launched in 2015 in partnership with the Spanish Wind Energy Association (AEE), is expanding its international reach to the United Kingdom, France and Brazil. These countries will join Spain and Italy in their efforts to raise public awareness about the benefits of wind energy as a cutting-edge technology for generating electricity.

The three-month campaign will focus on the social, environmental and economic benefits of wind energy, with collaboration from companies in the wind energy sector.

This time, the campaign includes a fun online game that lets users measure the wind power of their own breath using any device. It will highlight the benefits of wind energy in terms of ecological impact, job creation and lower electricity prices, using the hashtag #yestowindpower and the website www.yestowindpower.com.

The project enjoys support from wind energy associations in each country (AEE in Spain, ABEEólica in Brazil, ANEV in Italy, RenewableUK in the United Kingdom, FEE in France and PSEW in Poland) and backing from wind energy companies such as Acciona, Comantur, EDP Renováveis, Enercon, CIRCE Foundation, GE Renewable Energy, Green Eagle Solutions, the Renewable Energy Research Institute at the University of Castilla La Mancha, MS Enertech, NRG Systems, Previnsa-Foractiva, Santos Maquinaría Eléctrica, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, Trainek and Vestas.
