EDP Renováveis was founded in 2007 with the objective of managing, operating and investing in the renewable assets portfolio of the EDP group – Energias de Portugal – based in Lisbon. Today EDPR manages 1,164MW in all country through their wind farms and solar PV power plants across Portugal.

The company counts with an regional office in the city of Porto, where a Dispatch Center controls EDPR projects remotely on a real time basis. In Portugal, the company also assumes the role of protagonist in the investigation and creation of new technologies, leading cooperative projects, such as the renowned WindFloat Atlantic on the coast of Viana do Castelo.
