EDPR grants 113 Green Education scholarships in Andaluzia and Galicia

The initiative forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility policy set forth by the EDP Foundation in Spain in its quest to support the educational development of the next generations.

This year, 113 scholarships have been awarded totalling 75,500 euros. Applicants from across all the autonomous communities where EDP Renováveis operates underwent a careful selection process.

This year’s distribution by autonomous community was as follows: 66 scholarships for students in Andaluzia, in the municipal district of Cañete la Real (Malaga) totalling 44,000 euros, and 47 in Galicia, with recipients from the municipalities of Santa Comba, Dumbría and Vimianzo and awards totalling 31,500 euros.

According to João Paulo Costeira, COO of EDPR Europe & Brazil: “We believe that education is a fundamental pillar of society, and that’s why we want to continue our commitment to it through these scholarships, which we’ve been awarding for six years now.”
