Events in Pakoslaw and Jarczów

EDPR in Poland kicked off the year with events in Pakoslaw and Jarczów that engaged community members of all ages. We supported a special "Grandparents Day" event, which brought together the youngest and oldest community members in Pakoslaw, near Ilza Wind Farm.

We also worked with a local cultural center in Jarczów to hold a Carnival ball for children, which was featured in a local newspaper. Several activities were planned for the young attendees, including a competition for the best Carnival costume. Children at this event also received gift packs from EDPR.
"The Windmills" educational performance

New performances of "The Windmills" show took place for young children in the towns of Ilza, Golancz and Margonin. The characters in the show educated children about wind power through their theatrical performance and interaction with the audience. During the show children also learned the basics of how wind turbines work. The purpose of the show is to give children positive exposure to the idea that ecologically friendly windmills are operating in their neighborhoods. The performance was based around the lives of the zany "Windmills" family which depend on the air for their survival.

Collaboration with the "Association of Family Assistance" to support in-need residents in Korsze municipality

The "Association of Family Assistance" is an organization that helps people in difficult life situations in the municipality of Korsze. EDPR collaborated with the organization on their Food Aid program, which aims to increase food security levels for the city's poorest populations, and works to improve lives by facilitating social inclusion. Help is directed at those individuals and families who can afford enough food. EDP has financially supported the organization for the past five years. The project had great results in 2015, reaching 570 people in need in the Municipality of Korsze for a total amount of more than 40 tons of food.

Kresy Wind Farm - EDPR recognized  by local sports association

EDPR was recognized for its support or local sports initiatives with an award from the Zamojski District Football Association. This recognition shows the positive impact that EDPR is having in the local community, and it was an important opportunity to demonstrate that to local opinon leaders.
