EDPR NA volunteering: Cycling for a greater purpose

April 26, 2023

Providing a better tomorrow for our clients and communities begins with our energy and heart. We are passionate about creating a positive impact through the work we do in our offices, at our project sites, and in our communities.

Every year, EDPR NA is proud to make a difference by participating in the largest charity cycling series in the United States, the MS 150. Organized by the non-profit National Multiple Sclerosis Society, this annual event gathers cyclists from across the country to ride together to raise awareness and garner support for those who are affected by Multiple Sclerosis (MS), an immune-mediated disease.

For more than a decade, our EDPR NA team has participated in the Texas MS 150, where our team members come together to raise awareness and money, as well as volunteer their time, in support of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The Texas MS 150 is EDPR NA’s largest volunteer effort.

This year, the EDPR NA team will join more than 5,000 other cyclists in the  Texas MS 150 event on April 29 and 30, riding from Houston to College Station, Texas. The Texas MS 150 event has raised more than $6 million this year to strengthen the MS 150 movement, and we are steadfast in our dedication to continuing and building upon our participation in this event for many years to come.

Why we ride

With every mile cycled and every dollar donated, we are working toward a world free of MS. Learn more about why we ride from our EDPR NA MS 150 Team Captain, Kelsey Baird-Campos.

EDPR Environmental Associate

" This is the third year I have participated in the Texas MS 150, the second year with Team EDPR, and the first year as Team Captain! I feel very proud and privileged to ride for a cause, and the National MS Society is a truly amazing organization that does so much for people living with MS.

The Texas MS 150 is one of the largest charity cycling events in the world, and riding with so many others who support the cause is a very special experience. There is such a positive energy throughout the whole weekend of the event, and finishing the second day with a victory lap in the Texas A&M University football stadium, Kyle Field, while people cheer, is amazing!

In addition, riding in the Texas MS 150 as part of Team EDPR is a great opportunity to get to know my coworkers, whom I might not get to work with often, so I look forward to bonding with the 2023 team members. On top of everything, however, my main goal for this year’s ride is to achieve our Team’s fundraising goal of $20,000 for the MS Society. It is a very lofty goal for a team of our size, but we are equally determined, and I am positive that together, we can make it happen.”

Join us as we support the MS movement

The MS 150 has strengthened its mission of curing MS for every single person, through empowering people affected by MS to solve everyday challenges and by expanding the reach of the MS movement.

To date, the MS 150 has:

  • Invested $1.1 billion into research since 1946
  • Connected 11,835 people annually through self-help groups or peer-to-peer support
  • Amplified the voices of 39,809 MS activists to shape policy
  • Supported 297,021 people since 2017 through the MS Navigator program
  • Garnered 8.7 million people in joining the MS movement

This year, our EDPR NA team has a fundraising goal of $20,000 for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Any contribution – small or large – can truly make a difference. If you would like to contribute to the MS 150 movement, you can donate here or register for a race near you  here.
